Lantra, the Sector Skills Council for the environmental and land-based sector, is licensed by the UK government to drive forward the new skills, training and business development agenda for the sector. Lantra works at 3 levels with the 17 industries that Lantra represents:
- They promote to our industries the importance of training and development as a key contributor to increasing productivity and ensuring sustainable businesses.
- The 400,000 employers in the sector, Lantra provides tailored solutions to individual businesses to meet their skills needs. Their 1 million plus employees and a further ½ million volunteers who work in the sector.
- Lantra will encourage individuals to enter and progress within the sector by ensuring that there is high quality careers information and appropriate development opportunities Lantra represents the interests of 1.5 million people and 360,000 businesses in the land-based industries.
