Course Overview

The NPORS N100 Excavator as a Crane or N202 (please enquire) this course is designed for trained excavator operators looking to extend their capabilities to lifting operations. This course combines theory and practical instruction, ensuring candidates can operate a 360° excavator safely and effectively as a crane.

Training is available at our Heathfield centre, with coverage across Eastbourne, Heathfield, Hastings, Newhaven, East Sussex, Kent, Maidstone & Ashford

Prerequisites

• Valid Excavator Licence (minimum 12 months validity remaining)

• CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test (completed within the past 2 years)

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Course Content

• Introduction to lifting with excavators and operator responsibilities

• Regulations & Compliance with manufacturer guidelines and lifting legislation

• Working Environment assessments, capacity charts, and load configurations

• Load Management: centre of gravity, load weight estimation, and hazard awareness

• Communication: signal codes and hand signals used with slingers/signallers

• Safety Procedures to protect personnel, loads, and equipment

• 1 day for refresher training or assessment only

Successful candidates receive an NPORS N100 N202 Excavator as Crane certificate, valid for 2 years.
